As
a part of their 911 EMS service, the
Wabamun Volunteer Fire Department performs a search and rescue
function on Wabamun Lake. The Fire Hall is equipped with a marine VHF base
station for communication with their Boston Whaler rescue boat. Their Sea-Doo may also be dispatched to
get to the accident even quicker.
NOTE - The Fire Department does NOT actively monitor VHF channel 16. If you
hear a distress call on the VHF then answer it, respond to their aid AND call 911
to involve the
Wabamun Volunteer Fire Department. |
