Call to Order

The meeting was called to order by the Commodore at 7:10 p.m.

 

Determination of Quorum

There were enough members present to constitute a quorum.

 

Approval of the Minutes of the Meeting of February 17, 2016

Bob Brunelle moved that the minutes be adopted as circulated.  Charlie Patching seconded the motion.  Carried.

 

Business Arising from the Minutes

There was no business arising from the Minutes.

 

Filing of Annual Return - Financial Statement and Minutes from AGM for Societies Act Requirements

The minutes from the Annual General Meeting and a copy of the Financial Statement for the past year will be filed as required under the Societies Act and Regulations.

 

Fundraising - AOSA Bags

 

Charlie Patching moved that two types of carrying bags, one with a drawstring and one with handles, embroidered with a sailboat and the initials AOSA, be made and sold as a fundraising project.  Bags with the sailboat and initials will sell for $10.00 and bags with the logo, initials, and the name of a boat for $15.00.  Seconded by Bob Schimmel.  Carried.

 

Other New Business

Randy Woods spoke on courses offered by the Edmonton Power and Sail Squadron.  He outlined the content of the Marine Radio course, the Seamanship course, and the Advanced Piloting course (backup system if the electronics fail or if sailing out of sight of land).

There was no other new business.

 

Closure of the Business Meeting

The Commodore declared the business meeting closed at 7:30.
